The Attitudes of Parents Having Children of 5 to 11 Years on the Use of Painkillers

Objective: A wide variety of pain experiences are experienced during childhood. Children and parents may be inadequate in managing these pains. Parents not want to use painkillers because they afraid the side effects analgesics or that addictive. Little is known about parental attitudes this context Turkey. This study was planned determine who have 5-11 aged children administer medication.
 Methods: research conducted descriptive type purposeful sampling method, one nonprobability methods, used study. The carried out a primary school located town south Sociodemographic Data Collection Form Medication Attitudes Questionnaire which prepared by researchers examining literature, collect data. sample consisted 395 parents.
 Results: It found sociodemographic variables parents' did affect painkillers. seen most information training use, effects, frequency analgesics. 
 Conclusion: determined various non-pharmacological treatments manage their children's pain. In context, it everyone should made aware, without making any distinction between parents.
